Sketchbooks: Where Ideas Begin
My sketchbooks are intimate witnesses to my life — filled with quick thoughts, reactions, and ideas scribbled in ink and pencil. They are like diaries, capturing glimpses of daily life, political events, or personal concerns. Many of my larger paintings were first born in these pages, as I reflected on the immigrant experience, the stages of womanhood, or the rhythms of a city. These sketches are raw, immediate, and often more honest than the finished works.
